Default Hi

All the good to all of you from Bashkortostan.

A friend of mine told me about this forum and he said, it's pretty good, from what I see, he is absolutely correct about it.

Great to have you. I didn't even know Bashkortostan existed, lest where on the globe this place is to be found. Please, tell us something about your region. What kind of peoples live there? What languages do they speak? How do they relate to their neighbors? This would be highly interesting.

I didn't know either like a few years ago. Bashkortostan is a very nice place in the east of Europe and a republic within the Russian Federation. The rivers from the Ural go here through the hills and forests and the capital Ufa is a very modern city with like a million people living here.

I am originally from Germany, well, I spent some months in Bashkortostan and some time in the Ukraine this year. We install plants here. I guess, I have to go to Germany or somewhere else, where my company sends me to. If I was rich enough, I would probably stay here, it's a place to stay with very friendly people and beautiful landscapes.

These are mostly Bashkirian people, Tartarian people and Russian people. Bashkirian people look Asian, Tartarian people look Tartarian, somehow South European or Turkish, and Russian people look like German people, only better

Originally Bashkirian and Tartarian people have their own languages, who sound like Turkish or Uzbekian and usually the people with these origins understand these languages, there is music and radio programs. I think, they use these languages more often in the villages, in the cities Russian is more common, official signs and signs in shops and restaurants are often bilangual, notes are usually in Russian only.

I don't know of tensions. I have heard, Bashkirian people tend to get along better with Russian people when with Tartarian people, and the same goes for Tartarian people, but I have Bashkirian and Tartarian coworkers and I never have seen some kind of tension.

You're welcome, Dave. It is sunshine here at these days, the temperatures are high in summer and the winters are pretty cold, there have been less than -20 °C here in December. However, it's continental and dry, so it does not feel as cold like it is in winter. The same goes fo the summer
