Remember that supposed Time Traveler John Titor.

Here is a lot of info on him and his predictions, one of which is Civil War in the US around this time.

Maybe this "Generals revolt" is the start.

I had nearly forgotten about Titor. I followed him for a while and then just let it go.

In the 70s, I participated in a group of rock climbers and primitive camping enthusiast. We spent days of scaling rock faces and holding up at night in cliff shelters and caves smoking the best that was available and weaving complicated stories about trekking with people in various time periods. We traveled in our minds from Olduvai Gorge, and all around the world to particular sites that someone had even a kernel of information on. We shared those stories over and over on various treks and ventures. We never thought to write any of it down. It wasn't writeable. It was an oral history that we brought up out of our genetic messaging memories with the assistance of various chemical . . . assistors.

That whole thing has been now been put in print by Steven Mithen in After the Ice : A Global Human History 20,000-5000 BC, (Hardcover).

Now to the extended comments.

I do not doubt that we are on the verge of something ugly in this country. This administration could possibly have made a successful attempt three years ago in taking the government over in a new order. There was still just enough juice left in their product line. Now? It would be near impossible. Any such attempt would be meet with outrage and an upwelling of feeling that would send them all to the gibbet. There has never been anything near like a generals coup in this country. Washington had some whiff of that among the regional militias but he was able to get it knocked down. The long tradition of all military personnel swearing allegiance to the Constitution as directed by the commander in chief, has always meant the Constitution first. That is not to say that they could very well find that this commander in chief and his cabal are inimical to the Constitution. It couldn't happen. I believe that Colin Powell would be in the fore front of any such move. He would have the allegiance of the levelest heads of both retired and active duty generals. This Iraq business is an insult to all that is regular and proper in the execution of a military operation. It is an insult to all that has been ingrained into the general's corps and our "New Model Army". Rumsfeld is an example of the most ardent "Maoist" and the cult of personality. They are all now skittering to hold on long enough to be insured that nothing is revealed too soon and if it is, that they are all pardoned in some way.

Sometime in the last year, I crossed paths with Gen Schwarzkopf. I have seen and greeted him on several occasions. He is very accessible. I snapped him a salute, and reported, “Sir, my heart and mind are not with this administration.” To which he returned my salute and said, “Carry on soldier.” Syrupy, maybe a bit trite on my part but he spoke volumes to me.

i am still confused as to his need for such an old computer... but i am not knowledgable in such circumstances...

it is a shame thatin 30 years we will not have left behind 32 bit os and cpu's on major systems that need debugging, or that there was not a single one available in that time... nor emulator nothing..

as for his other clians.... him and nostra damus should write a book...

i am sure on his car he had a Mr Fusion device that created the needed 1.21GW of energy.....

I am not on the street as much now as I was previously so my path crossing adventures have slowed. I still run into Robin Zander in my village hardware store.

I read quite a bit about Titor last year. His posts were really interesting and curiously believeable.

Seeing how the tension in the US is so thick you can almost cut it with a knife, the civil war of 2012 doesnt' sound quite so far fetched.
