Default Tech help please

I've set up my new laptop and downloaded Firefox 3.6, but the pages are too wide for the screen. I've tried resetting it in safe mode, but it didn't work. Any ideas?

I'm the ultimate tech idiot..but at the bottom right side of my screen is a magnifying glass and an 85%.

I set it at 85% because I had the same problem. and it works.

I don't appear to have that on my screen.

Ooh. I right-clicked on the desktop, got into the graphics settings and changed them. It seems to have worked.

Nope. It didn't survive being restarted.

I'm not at all familiar with lap tops. My computer is pretty old. It still has a hand crank on the side.

Top right hand side are the three buttons, close, minimize and reduce/enlarge size. Click the middle reduce/enlarge button to fill the screen.

stagnant in the middle or extremely extreme = insane.
Bounce around and try real hard to be real.

I don't think that'll help.

I say it simply because the browser can be moved outside of the screen if it's not set to full screen. If it is set to full screen, it can't. Other than that your screen settings Settings/control panel/display/settings is set incorrectly for your screen size but that would be very unusual for a laptop.

Easy

Change it for a larger laptop

If you are too miserable to do this then have a look at the following web page

Firefox window is too large or opens off screen

Was that what you have tried?

Also have a look at the posts on the following page where that problem has been discussed.

Relax, at least he knows the global 'warming' literature, and read it accurately.

At least he didn't skim over something, then give silly inaccurate observations as if he's an expert.

Doesn't one just go to "View" and hit "Zoom out"?
