I am no means adverse to the idea.

I can't really see why it's needed. There are more than enough forums, imo.

It's needed because if you post a thread about british politics it gets lost in world events .

That's why we never created one. My stance has always been that if p and ca becomes busy enough to warrant a uk forum then we'll create one.

I am an American and when I signed up for this forum, I was looking for UK politics and it was hard to find and all over the place. Others to take into consideration are history, art, literature, science, and jokes. All these are good forums. I would like to see a UK Political Forum. After all, this is a UK site.

Thank you if I had the Thankee button I'd be pressing it furiously now

You'll find UK Politics in the World Forum. Art, Literature and jokes tend to be in General (if clean), and Science in Environment.

This is actually an English speaking International Forum. The website sits on .com whilst the forum is on .co.uk

It is just a little difficult to navigate if one is looking for specifics.

LMAO. Add in the wee peculiarities of the posters and it's well nigh impossible!

If you don't mind my asking, "What does LMAO mean"? I have no idea what this acronym stands for.

I understand about the peculiarities. Some are so mean-spirited that it really takes away from the board.

LMAO = Laugh my ass off. Don't judge too harshly. Some of these enmities are ancient and have been going on for up to six years. Whilst they may seem over the top to the casual reader, the comments you have noted seem perfectly justifiable to the participants. (I hate them too, though! )

Thank you.
It just makes it a little diffcult to find something of value when one has to wade through it all. It is sometimes like walking through mud, getting sucked in , and losing your shoe. Sometimes it is kind of fun and other times it goes on too long.

Indeed. But this is part of the freedom we have here - to speak pretty much as we will with very few constraints. It may not always be pretty or even palatable, but one need not walk on eggshells around here.

If you steer clear of The Hole you'll find the site as a rule a lot more pleasant.

Welcome to P & CA by the way.

Well if we had a group of 20+ active UK Based posters who solely want to discuss UK Topics, then I would open a UK Forum. By opening one now regardless, would imo waterdown World Events.

The above applies for any national orientated forum.

The reason as stated before why we have a US Forum was due to the clutter of World Events caused by the discussion around the 2004 US Election. Also if America sneezes, the rest of world notices. Hence the reason we have kept it.
