Default How I learned to love the recession, by Doctor Strangemutha

Back about 5 years ago when I first created a business model that astonished a veteran accountant and yielded enough money for me to buy as much car and food and weed as I thought would impress the fit blonde chick who sold houses for a living, I remember how people always said to me (other than cool people in the hood, who knew the meaning of hard work) "no no no, you don't start a business like THAT - what you are SUPPOSED to do is get capital - you have to have investment - you must start by getting credit, and use a large sum of money to create a business... it's the ONLY way"

And I'd say "just you wait and see what happens to you and your only way".

And as well as feeling vindicated at a humiliation level, I also feel highly on the road to profit, why? Because In those days even someone with talent, even someone who could create a business model which took about 2k and made 15k... even someone like that would simply get sidelined and stopped from building a business unless they could secure capital and since I went to oxford with exactly zero pounds and zero pence provided by my millionaire dad (so that lads from birmingham with "no money", living off government grants tended to have better social lives than me).

Today, with the added good news that credit cards are the next huge chunk of liquidity to go, I know for sure that my talents cannot be ousted from the market place I am firmly embedded in, not any more. Nor can my competitors, often talentless spamming a-holes, continue to beat me to my profits, since they don't have - development skills or a comprehensive understanding of the click market, all they have is, or rather all they had is the capacity to shmooze their way to more credit, capital, investment etc and they just buy their way to bigger businesses.

It's like the difference between someone playing Acornsoft's Elite, and I'm someone who can dock without a docking computer, whereas most of these people go in there with the docking computer already in place and never learn how to dock properly.

Okay, that reference is a little arcane. It's like starting a business only with knowledge of how to borrow large amounts of money and boost a business's performance through the might of its purse rather than knowing how to make a business rise out of the ground from nothing and rely only on its high quality structure and business processes.

So that's why I'm well happy these days and feel quite sure that 2009 is my year... hell with a bit of luck I even see myself getting my act together on this whole love deal, and indeed staying off the damn smoking, which is a really ugly thing that happens to people when they're poor or otherwise under the yoke.

Extend this outward and you find - today the talentless greedy underhand capitalists who provide nothing useful to society are getting creamed and those with talent strong enough to have stood tall through years of hostile conditions... all such people will rise now - which means a lot of progress, and a lot more women in charge.
