I understand your point, Potter, but I believe there's a more fundemental reason you can't get a decent pizza with fish on it.

I was always surprised that when I was in highschool P&CA was never blocked, and we had fairly strict filters as well.

yeah , they have banned all forums in are school, using the url as the catcher, but P&CA is only 1 of 2 forums that i can still access (the other being an ice hockey forum) even the [sometimes powerful] language gets through the filter....most odd,

All forums seem to harbour them. They don't get out much, I suppose.

I was posting on another board, and one of your members who also posted there, invited me here.

That's because we fly below the radar

Probably also because we are on a dedicated server, whilst sharing with my other sites, P & CA has a dedicated IP Address - so isn't punished by actions of other sites which happens from time to time to sites on a shared server with a shared IP Address.

I haven't checked this poll for some time - I think over a year. It makes quite interesting reading.45 people have voted on this so far. If you haven't yet voted please do so.

That's a bit off the mark. I came here from a very conservative forum and stayed because the ratio of trolls to posters was low, and because there were real debates of substance going on more than single-line toss offs. When I first arrived, there were far more heavy posters to the liberal side, but I could have conversations with them that didn't center on personality instead of politics.

Echo chambers are cool, for about a minute, then they get boring.

That post Digga made was quite a while back. I'd like to think there is a more balanced make up here now.

One thing I have noticed since my return from my absence is that there is a lot less trolling and flaming and that the level of debate has improved.

Not to throw myself flowers or anything but i think it occured when i started moderating (correlation is not causation, i hear you think...)

I think i googled it. Like Guru, I was on a specialised forum, kept getting into political debates in the General Chat section, the owner got tired of moderating political debates and running a forum in general, killed it & here i came...
