Perhaps, but trying to tie it into this thread is beyond stupid.

Why is it stupid? Threads evolve on any forum. Some on purpose by thread jackers, others evolve naturally. Seeing as the US Election is the hot talking point here and also on other politics forums, it is only natural the candidates view points on this area get mentioned.

Because it really has no relation to the thread and was a cheap political dig. Which is standard fare for tom. Anytime he can get in a political cheap shot he does.

Now if someone were to bring up willie horton and how the Dems favor giving such people vacations from jail so they can go and kill more people tom would shit his pants in anger.

Accountable yes. But the state shouldn't be in the revenge business.

I couldn't care less if this guy dies or not. But the reality is that innocent people end up on death row, and finding someone innocent after being killed is a travesty. And when you consider that the death penalty cost more to implement than life in prison... It seems pointless.

Besides, from what I know of prison and what this guy will go through there, he should be praying for the death penalty. Prison will be no reprieve.

Not really, I just think it's unfairly easy for us to overlook the danger posed to his cell mates because we know that we will not be the individuals placed in that situation.

While I'm against the death penalty for fear that a innocent could/have been executed, I can understand the cry for it at times.
Some societys { Egypt ?] allow the family to decide the punishment, freedom, death, slavery,[working for family to replace income lost by death,]
Not too bad of an Idea.
