Thumbs down Obama 2004: Bush Rushed Legislation Without Allowing Time To Read, Debate

RealClearPolitics - Video - Obama 2004: Bush Rushed Legislation Without Allowing Time To Read, Debate

BARACK OBAMA: ...When you rush these budgets that are a foot high and nobody has any idea what's in them and nobody has read them.

RANDI RHODES: 14 pounds it was!

BARACK OBAMA: Yeah. And it gets rushed through without any clear deliberation or debate then these kinds of things happen. And I think that this is in some ways what happened to the Patriot Act. I mean you remember that there was no real debate about that. It was so quick after 9/11 that it was introduced that people felt very intimidated by the administration.

Sounds like Obama should take his own advice.

Obama knows what any observer should.

Give the republicans time and they could demonize funding for the orphans of veterans.

At least I know what it's like to have been an ass kicker,as opposed to an insignificant shrimp like you who always got his lunch money taken by dudes with biceps.

isn't that what congress is for? we elected them to represent our interests in government...

if everything went to referendum then we can get rid of those overpaid assholes and do things properly.

however the ability to point to your own state and country on a map should at least be a prerequisite for beng able to have a say in anything

"will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days"
Really? you're nailing him on the 5 day thing? I'd expect that you'd have something of more significance. But if you hadn't noticed there had already been ample scrutiny of those bills even before he signed. For the most part the overall approval rating for those bills was very high.
Seriously you republicans need to do much better than to be bitching about such insignificant things.
