Biblethumper, you lying liar, back in the 50's, radical lefties weren't called un-American because they disagreed, they were called un-American becuase they were alleged (occasionally correctly) to be working with the International Communist Conspiracy. Now what Hoyer and Pelosi are calling un-American is actions to "disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue." They say "Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American." (emphasis added)

Do you think 'drowning out' and 'disagreeing' are the same thing? I think you're being a lying liar again by claiming people were being called 'un-American' simply because they disagreed.

Denying others the ability to participate in the debate IS un-American in my view, whether such tactics are used by socialists (and I know of numerous such occasions), or, now, by the right.

Who is the lying liar, you don't have to go back to the 50's, conservative speakers are drowned out, is it that you call it? all the time on college campuses where they are invited to speak. Ever seen Chris Matthews, he drowns out conservatives all the time on his show asking questions and then talking over them when they try to answer.

I gather then, in your view, two wrongs will make a right? Anyway, that has nothing to do with the issue at hand which was your mischaracterization of what Pelosi said as Don correctly pointed out. Political 'spin' is one thing, but deliberate distortions are quite another.

Don, I don't think anybody should be shouted down, but it has become a stratedgy of the left first,
in this case the people are righlty indignant.

Right like how she said people at the protests had swastika tattoos, that's what started the Nazi comparisons.

I'm not about to get into a irrelevant semantic argument over who was the first to shout down someone they disagreed with, especially with a known liar. But I would bet everything I own, it goes back long before there were democrats and republicans.

I have no earthly idea what you're talking about, so I'll ignore it. I repeat, Pelosi's comment about being un-American was directed at those whose rude manners and loudness prevented any sort of dialogue at more than a few meetings and had NOTHING to do with reasoned opposition to Dem's healthcare legislation. Further, past mob actions by others do not justify those of today.

reasoned? no they weren't,people are tired of being talked down to, as if they are third graders by people who in many cases haven't even read the bill.

It takes sack for you to complain about people not reading any bill.

There is, in many cases, a reason why many people talk down to you like you're a third grader.

Don - calling a poster a liar is rather rude and may upset the susceptibilities of mods less broadminded than your humble correspondent.

But could you please amplify on the above quote?

If a liar is not lying is he/she still entitled to be designated as a liar.

And what about a poster who is lying but is not a liar?

Basically is a lying liar more reprehensible than just a plain liar or even a non liar who just happens to be lying?

Is there any middle ground on this?
