we have a nice mosque in chicago in fact a realtive went there when he was in town we have been passed the pace at prayer time and lal other timesofthe day and there has not been one peep coming from it, about a billion taxis but no call to prayer.

i remember the mosque in the uk near where we lived one of the first in the country, i never heard a peep from that at prayer time either, i guess it does depend on municipality and other aspects too.

however as i said if a church can ring bells a mosque can call to prayer, so can a synagog... all get to or none do as far as i am concerned.

This is the part I was specifically asking about. Is it true?

As for the mosque, not a wonderful PR move to say the least, but it should be interesting to see how folks react when they blare out their first call to prayer. <<<<<<<<<<<

I have been unable to verify this and would like the truth, One of the reasons of posting this here.

That is an outrage that a band of murderers would set up shop mere blocks from where they murdered thousands of Americans. Muslims should not be allowed to set up their hate filled, violence promoting mosques near the scene of any of their successful murderous ventures.

So instead of verifying your premise before posting it here you want us to go and research it for you and validate it?
You're being "attacked" because to even believe such rubbish is lunacy.
It's the equivalent of Obama is a secret Kenyan muslim.

?

What would be unusual about that? His grandparents and dad were Kenyan Muslims.

Obama spoke to George Stephenapolous about "My Muslim faith", to quote Obama himself. Google Obama's statement, "My Muslim faith."

Don't you know where Obama's dad came from and his Kenyan Muslim relatives?

Maybe you think Obama was an Aussie and his grandparents lived in Great Britain before Australia?

I was unable to verify, nor prove it wrong or I would have posted verification.

Its not being attacked, I didn't write this article. As to weather I blindly believe or not is another question. Disbelief without checking is blind stupidity.

Weasterner
If some one claims to be a Christian. we have to accept that He may be lying but its not up to us to judge.

BO did make statement he would stand with the Muslims if that was the choice, and was raised as a Muslim Whether he converted to Christianity is the question.

of course as usual ya'll take a quote out of context

Quote:
A verbal slip by Barack Obama, in which he made a reference to "my Muslim faith," unleashed a barrage of Internet attacks Sunday.
The Democratic presidential candidate appeared on ABC's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos, which aired Sunday morning.
Obama was -- ironically -- addressing the false rumors that he is Muslim. He suggested that Republican rival John McCain was behind them, according to ABC News.
Obama was reminded that McCain denied spreading the rumors.
"You're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith," Obama said, before being corrected by Stephanopoulos.
Obama pointed the finger at "the Republican camp."
The quote became a magnet for comments on the YouTube.com video site and by bloggers as the day went on. Some seized on it as confirmation of their suspicions and some ridiculed it as a gaffe.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton bristled. "Printing a blogger suspecting that Obama is a Muslim is pretty irresponsible and below the standards that we're used to out of the Sun-Times," he wrote in an e-mail.

but we all know he was a muslim because he spent so much time in that nasty church run by that RV. Wright, which the republicans slammed him for.. so what is it to be is he an evil man who follows rev. wright? or is he a muslim? he cannot be both even though that exactly what the GOP have tried to portray

Really? So if I told you that big foot was in my back yard just now there's an actual plausibility in that?
It's belief without checking that is blind stupidity, not disbelief. The whole burden of proof fallacy. The default is disbelief until shown otherwise.
Those who make the claim need to actually support the claim with evidence, not the other way around of those who disbelieve needing to check and see whether or not a claim is valid.

Then quote of BO standing with the Muslims came before he announced candidacy believe it came from one of his books.\
Ihuf
I f some people said they had a Sasquatch [Big Foot] in the back seat of their car I would go see it. However if some of the magpies on this board said they had one I wouldn't even look up let allone look int heir car, they have no creditability.

What if I said, "We know where they are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south, and north somewhat."

Would you believe me then?

What if I said, "I think we may well have some kind of presence there over a period of time," Cheney said. "The level of activity that we see today from a military standpoint, I think, will clearly decline. I think they're in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency."

Would you believe me?

Are you not one of those "magpies" on this board? So what credibility do you have in the matter more than anyone else? Again, burden of proof.
If someone says that they have bigfoot in their car and you say prove it, they show you the big foot in their car, that's meeting the burden of proof.
If simply to say so, but when you demand proof they say, oh it ran out. Really? You're telling me that you are going to believe that?

Obama implicated in extra-terrestrial threat to Earth

Evidence has been uncovered that "President" Barack Obama is an extra-terrestrial being from an unnamed planet in the NGC 4414 Galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices. He travelled the 20 million parsecs to Earth in a dimensional folding vessel, with his companions, one female of his species and two females of his planet's pygmy tribe.

The evidence came to light when a series of intergalactic data communications were intercepted by CB enthusiast and gas station attendant Cletus Balls, of Information Gap, West Virginia. Balls said Tuesday, "They was clever. The messages was in code, but I decoded them using my patent aluminum special communications helmet."

Balls, 23 and single with six children, claims that the messages contained detailed plans to infiltrate US cities with large, ornate buildings, each with a tall communication mast disguised as a turret with a PA system at the top. These would be used as spaceports for the transfer of large numbers of aliens. Each of these beings would receive messages and instructions via an implant on the top of their head. They would, Balls reported, wear cloths wrapped around their heads to camouflage the implants.

The aim of this operation, according to transcripts this news site has seen in Balls' coloring book, is to take control of the Earth and replace its white Christian population with these brown, cloth-wearing aliens. Worryingly, when approached by this reporter, the FBI had no knowledge of this threat.

I'm not sure about this story, but it would be blind stupidity simply to disbelieve it, so I posted it here to let you folks prove it wrong.
